De Val d'Orcia, die zich uitstrekt van het heuvelachtige terrein ten zuiden van Siena tot de omgeving van Monte Amiata, wordt door velen beschouwd als het mooiste deel van een legendarisch mooi gebied. <strong>UNESCO Werelderfgoed<\/strong> site voor zijn landelijke pracht en de historische landbeheerpraktijken tijdens de Renaissance die zowel esthetiek als nut waardeerden.<\/p>\n<p>Je vindt hier ook geweldige wijnen en accommodaties die vari\u00ebren van luxe en verfijnd tot charmante herbergen op het platteland. Val d'Orcia kun je het beste in een rustig tempo ontdekken - er is opmerkelijke kunst te vinden in kerken, palazzo's en musea, maar maak ook tijd om de natuurlijke visuele pracht in je op te nemen door lange ontspannen ritten door het omringende platteland te plannen. Dit is waarom je dit ongelooflijke deel van Toscane niet mag missen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>De etherische landschappen:<\/strong> Toen filmregisseurs als Anthony Minghella en Ridley Scott naar de Val d'Orcia kwamen om opnames te maken, keken ze uit op landschappen die sinds de Renaissance weinig veranderd waren. De kunstenaars van de Sienese School uit die tijd zagen dezelfde buitengewone panorama's - een oneindigheid van glooiende heuvels, clusters van perfect gepositioneerde cipressen en stadjes op heuveltoppen met lintachtige wervelingen van wegen die door het bucolische terrein kronkelden.<\/p>\n<p>Het is moeilijk om een moment van de dag te kiezen waarop de uitzichten het mooist zijn: 's ochtends zijn de heuvels gehuld in mist, maar als de zon hoger aan de hemel staat, verandert het landschap in een landelijk palet van groen en geel, waarna de schemering overgaat in technicolor zonsondergangen.
