In 1887, Marquis Carlo Benedetto Ginori Lisci, owner of the famous Florentine ceramics of the same name, bought the villa and carried out a radical renovation of the buildings and surrounding garden. Since then, the villa has always remained in the family's ownership.
The architectural style chosen was Tuscan-Neo-Gothic.
The interior of the main villa has been enriched by the beautiful art-nouveau frescoes by Francesco Fanelli, a painter from Giovanni Fattori's circle.
The villa has always been an important cultural point in the entire Versilia area and frequented by great artists including Giacomo Puccini.
Giacomo Puccini was a frequent visitor to the villa and a great friend of Marchese Ginori, so much so that he dedicated one of his most famous operas to him: La Bohème.
