The monumental Abbey is located in Sassoferrato, in an environment of ancient charm, on a small hill surrounded by greenery and rock, in an intriguing and curious atmosphere, near the ruins of the ancient Umbrian-Roman city of Sentinum, whose grandiose vestiges can still be admired in situ. The prestigious Abbey Complex consists of a Monastery, a Rectory House and the Church of Santa Croce (not for sale), recently restored and returned to its ancient splendour, covering an area of approximately 3,000 square metres, magnificently encompassed in a park of 36,800 square metres. A large part of the structure is already ready to be completed, while the structural consolidation has already been completed with the anti-seismic static safety by means of engineering works, the external walls have been refurbished, the interiors are partly habitable and partly in the rough and unfinished advanced state, the basement floor dedicated to services has been constructed and is currently in the rough state. Internal shafts have been prepared to serve lifts and lifts. The Rectory House is an integral part of the property, while the Church, although perfectly integrated into the Abbey and still functional for ceremonies and other similar occasions, remains in the care of the Municipality, which takes care of all aspects. Built by the Counts Atti, Lords of Sassoferrato, in the last years of the 12th century for the Camaldolese Monks, it constitutes one of the most important examples of Romanesque architecture in the region and was built within the perimeter walls of an existing church probably built at the time of the Templars, whose symbols are still present, in particular: the Templar Cross on the left of the church in the direction of the altar, the symbols carved on grey columns and capitals featuring eagles and sirens. Inside the Abbey is an important relief, a work by Pietro Paolo Agabiti and other frescoes from the 1400s. It is recent history that the church was visited by Napoleon Bonaparte. Sassoferrato has a rich and prestigious heritage of historical and artistic assets, such as churches, monasteries and buildings of architectural interest. The Rocca Albornoz, is the city's symbolic monument, a massive military construction built in 1365, from whose surrounding park one can admire suggestive views. From Sassoferrato it is possible to trace infinite itineraries to discover one of Italy's most extraordinary regions. Just eight kilometres from Sassoferrato is the Regional Park of the Gola della Rossa and Frasassi, the green lung of the Marche region with its ten thousand hectares of protected area. In the nearby municipality of Genga it is possible to visit the wonderful Frasassi Caves. From Genga, it is only a twenty-minute drive to Fabriano, one of Italy's oldest paper-producing towns. Fabriano's historic centre houses the Paper and Watermark Museum, the Palazzo del Podestà, the Teatro Gentile and the Portico dei Vasari.
