Read moreAn ancient 17th century Masseria in the heart of the purest and most authentic Valle D'Itria. The splendid rural complex with a total covered area of 338 square metres is located in the countryside of Martina Franca, in the province of Taranto, Apulia.
The 44-hectare property consists mainly of arable and pasture land, but also includes a wooded area characteristic of the Salento Murge (or Murgia Tarantina).
The main body of the property consists of the Masseria, an old two-storey rural building surrounded by a complex of 8 conical trulli in perfect condition, 3 other sloping-roofed buildings and 2 other partially ruined trulli.
In an excellent state of conservation, the trulli once served as cattle sheds, a typical activity of the area. Inside, in fact, in addition to the marvellous cone vaults, the ancient stone troughs and, in large sections, a prestigious paved floor made of chamfered local stone are perfectly preserved.
The Masseria is traditionally located in a prestigious panoramic position with respect to the rest of the area. Situated on the top of a hill, in fact, from the hill itself there is a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside, among the clumps of olive groves and the chimneys of the many ancient trulli that dot the area.
The area around the Masseria, for large tracts, is affected by the new landscape restrictions recently introduced in the area: this means that, by purchasing the Masseria, you will be able to enjoy a totally exclusive and uncontaminated area, fully enjoying nature and experiencing the authenticity of rural life in Valle D'Itria.
Martina Franca is an elegant town nestled in the hills of the south-eastern Murgia, between the Ionian and Adriatic Seas. Thanks to its panoramic position, the city dominates the enchanting Itria Valley, whose landscape is dotted with trulli, lamie and 'masserie'.
Valle d'Itria describes an area, in the heart of Apulia, straddling the provinces of Taranto, Brindisi and Bari, characterised by a highly scenic rural area with expanses of olive groves, vineyards and Mediterranean scrub forests.
